There is still time to register for the 2024 PovertyCure Summit, “Dignity, Agency, & Charity.”
The conference runs from Noon to 4 pm EST. See Schedule Below
Like all our work at PovertyCure, this two-day virtual event is focuses on putting the human person at the center of thinking about society, the economy, and global development and promoting the conditions where people can create prosperity and flourishing in their own families and communities.
I will be moderating the conference and interviewing some of our speakers and panelists. This is really an excellent line-up of speakers and topics so if you have time I encourage you to register and watch
Some of the key questions our presenters and panelists will answer include:
Are material living standards the only metric for progress in the developing world
Who is the “protagonist” of a family’s journey from poverty to prosperity?
How can the United States alleviate its housing shortage?
Why does social disorder seem to be getting worse, not better, in a country as wealthy as the United States, and what can be done about it?
Speakers and topics include
William Easterly, Professor of Economics at New York University and the author of The White Man’s Burden, The Tyranny of Experts, and The Elusive Quest for Growth
Seth Kaplan, the author of Fragile Neighborhoods
Martin Burt, founder of Poverty Stoplight and the author of Who Owns Poverty
